CONTEXT FOR THIS TOPIC: Check out this YouTube comment left by "BaintonTV" -- I COMPLETELY AGREE with it and I cite it a good synopsis of why I have made this promise to my viewers: "Here's the irony: AI has, most likely, already ingested your entire online database of articles. Further, with a couple keystrokes, and after loading just a few of your past videos, the AI beast can copy your moving image, your voice to the letter, and even your standard sentence syntax structure and verbal delivery cadence. And the kicker is this, Michael, every 5.7 months the power of AI actually doubles which means, in just over a year, the video quality (and smooth likeness of your persona) will be spot on...and no one would be able to tell. Simply imagine that weaponized against you. After a robot carries you away, your email list could be hijacked, and some other 'Michael persona' could verbally announce and recant your entire body of work, a lifetime's worth. And no one would understand what happened to the 'old Michael.'. Behold your deceptive 'signs and wonders,' Michael... because it's already here." The moral concern here is not over how we will use the technology but rather how the technology will use us. If the technology takes on a life of its own, we will have no say in how to morally employ it in the defense of truth and the promotion of liberty. The computer itself or the Internet in general – these are tools whose moral use is up to us. My concern is that we will soon have no say in how AI is used, which is why in this potential is a beast and not merely some morally neutral technology. If the machines take over, this would be an objective moral evil that will not be subject to the user’s moral subjectivity. In that eventuality, what was once the dystopian nightmare of the science fiction novelist and filmmaker would become our new normal. And that’s what this discussion is all about.
